Fresh off his retirement after 22 seasons in the NFL, former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady reflects on “the call that changed it all” in ESPN’s latest entry into the Peabody and Emmy award-winning documentary 30 for 30 series exploring The Tuck Rule.

The Tuck Rule was one of the most controversial calls in NFL history that took place on January 19, 2002, in a Divisional Round playoff game between the New England Patriots and Oakland Raiders. During the game, Brady was sacked by Raiders cornerback Charles Woodson which caused a fumble and turnover, but after an official review, the call was overturned and the Patriots kept the football and went on to win the game and that year’s Super Bowl.

Directed by Ken Rodgers and Nick Mascolo, Brady will be joined by Woodson, who are former teammates at the University of Michigan, as they sit down and reflect on the controversial play for the first time ever.

Check out the trailer below.

“The Tuck Rule is certainly one of the most controversial calls in the history of sports, but it may also be one of its most consequential.  It proves that one moment, this moment, any moment, can change our lives – just as it did for Brady and Woodson twenty years ago today. It was awe-inspiring to hear these two friends talk with each other about that moment for the first time in their lives. Their emotions about that night are still fresh,” said co-director Ken Rodgers.

The documentary will feature interviews with referee Walt Coleman, Patriots owner Robert Kraft, Patriots coach Bill Belichick, Patriots players Tedy Bruschi, Troy Brown, Willie McGinest, Raiders owner Mark Davis, Raiders players Tim Brown, Lincoln Kennedy, and Eric Allen.
