How to watch the PGA Championship

Note: This article will be updated once COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted and schedules come out.

As one of the four majors in the professional golf circuit, the PGA Championship brings the world’s elite players together for a notoriously challenging stroke play tournament. Competitors play 18 holes per day over 4 days for a total of 72 holes. The winner receives the renowned Wanamaker Trophy, named for Rodman Wanamaker, a department store magnate largely responsible for founding the Professional Golf Association. The winner also takes home the lion’s share of the purse, which is always over $10 million in recent years.

Are you planning to watch the PGA Championship? Coverage will typically broadcast on CBS and ESPN. Stay tuned for the complete schedule. If you aren’t a cable subscriber, don’t worry. There are several ways to enjoy the PGA Championship live stream.

When is the 2020 PGA Championship?

The 102nd PGA Championship was set to take place from May 11 – 17, 2020, at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, California. Unfortunately, due to COVID19 precautions, the event has been postponed. The PGA has not yet announced new dates.

Live TV streaming services for the PGA Championship

AT&T TV Now (formerly DIRECTV NOW) provides access to live and on-demand content, including CBS and ESPN starting at $65/mo. Various plans are available depending on how many channels you want access to, but all bundles feature 500 hours of cloud DVR storage and simultaneous streaming on up to 3 devices at once. Subscriptions come with a free seven-day trial and the ability to cancel at any time.

CBS All Access connects viewers to an extensive library of live and on-demand CBS content. Subscribers can choose between a Limited Commercial plan ($5.99/mo.) and a Commercial-Free option ($9.99/mo.) Viewers can save 15% with an annual subscription. Students are also eligible for 25% off Limited-Commercial monthly subscriptions. While the service comes with 2 simultaneous streams and parent control settings, it does not offer cloud DVR storage. CBS All Access has a seven-day free trial. Keep in mind that this streaming service will only provide access to PGA Championship coverage airing on CBS.

fuboTV is a sports-centric streaming service that offers CBS but does not include ESPN. This makes it an option for watching some —but not all — rounds of the PGA Championship. A basic subscription costs $54.99/mo. Subscribers have access to 30 hours of cloud DVR storage for free and stream on up to 2 devices at the same time. You can try fuboTV for free by signing up for the service’s free seven-day trial.

Hulu + Live TV provides access to Hulu’s streaming library on top of various live and on-demand channels, including CBS and ESPN. A regular subscription costs $54.99/mo., and features streaming on 2 screens as well as 50 hours of cloud DVR storage. Users can create up to 5 user profiles with 1 account and set up Kid Profiles for parental controls. New subscribers can try the service risk-free with a seven-day trial.

SlingTV is a live streaming service with 3 bundles: Sling Orange ($30/mo.), Sling Blue ($30/mo.), and Sling Orange + Blue ($45/mo.). None of the service’s plans provide access to CBS. Sling Orange and Sling Orange + Blue both carry ESPN. New subscribers currently have the option of choosing between $10 in savings on the first month or $20 in savings over 4 months. All SlingTV bundles come with parent control features, 10 hours of free DVR, and the ability to record multiple shows at once.

YouTube TV also offers 70+ channels, including CBS and ESPN for $49.99/mo. CBS is only available in select markets. The service features 3 simultaneous streams, parental control settings, and up to 6 accounts per household. It also comes with unlimited DVR storage space that saves recordings for up to nine months. You can test this streaming service with a free seven-day trial.
