The NHL is about to get wild tonight during the “NHL Big City Greens Classic,” which will be the first ever-live animated NHL game telecast. Madison Square Garden will be the home of tonight’s game between the 32-28-7 Washington Capitals and the 37-19-10 New York Rangers.

Tonight’s game will feature live, real-time volumetric animation of players and teams modeled after characters from the animated comedy “Big City Greens.” Kevin Weekes and Drew Carter will handle commentary for the game and they will wear motion-capture suits that allow the full-body animations of them in the Big City to mimic their movements.
