After a grueling regular season and an exciting playoff, the final two best women’s professional basketball teams will meet on the court for the 2023 WNBA Finals. The best-of-five series will feature No. 2 New York Liberty taking on defending champion No. 1 Las Vegas Aces.

Heading into this year’s Finals, head coach Becky Hammon has her team motivated after defeating the Dallas Wings, 3-0, in the Western Finals. The sweep gives the Aces two extra days of rest which means they’ll have fresh legs before embarking on the physicality of the championship series. With homecourt advantage, they’ll be facing a gritty Liberty squad seeking their first WNBA championship and making their fifth appearance in the title game, the first since 2002.

Plenty of championship experience will be on display when the series tips off, as each roster combined has 17 WNBA Championships. Plus, some of the best players to ever touch the hardwood will be on the floor as this series accounts for 26 percent (7 of 27) of the WNBA regular-season MVPs. Notably, the Aces have former two-time MVPs Candace Parker and A’ja Wilson and the Liberty are home to Jonquel Jones and Breanna Stewart
