How to watch the iHeartRadio Music Awards

The iHeartRadio Music Awards is an annual ceremony that celebrates the best music that has been played across national iHeartMedia radio stations and the company’s digital music platform, iHeartRadio. The inaugural event took place in 2014, and it has celebrated the most popular artists and music of the previous 12 months ever since.

All the biggest names from the world of popular music convene during the iHeart Music Awards. And the good news for music-loving cord cutters is that they will not have to miss a single award being handed out as the ceremony is available on several live video streaming services each year.

When are the 2020 iHeartRadio Music Awards?

The 2020 iHeartRadio Music Awards have been postponed to date that has yet to be released.

The iHeartRadio Music Awards 2020 event was originally scheduled to take place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. When it resumes, it promises to be a star-studded event with pop singers Billie Eilish and Shawn Mendes leading the nominations for the event with seven each. Camila Cabello and Taylor Swift both have six. The ceremony will be hosted by R&B singer and actor, Usher.

Other artists with multiple nominations include Ariana Grande, Daddy Yankee, Drake, Ed Sheeran, Jonas Brothers, and Justin Bieber, as well as Lil Nas X, Post Malone, Selena Gomez, Snow, and Summer Walker.

More than 50 awards will be up for grabs that night, with the most coveted including Song of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Best New Artist, and Best Duo/Group of the Year. Awards are then divided up into the Best Song of the Year, Best Artist of the Year, and Best Album of the Year across the genres of alternative rock, country, dance, hip-hop, Latin, R&B, and rock.

Additional awards available include Best Cover Song, Best Lyrics, Best Remix, Best Solo Breakout, Label of the Year, Song That Left Us Shook, and Songwriter of the Year. There are also a number of social media orientated awards, such as Social Star Award, Most Thumbed-Up Artist of the Year, and Most Thumbed-Up Song of the Year — while more niche awards include Best Fan Army and Cutest Musician Pet.

Live TV streaming services for the iHeart Radio Music Awards

The iHeart Radio Music Awards are available to cord-cutters via streaming services that provide access to FOX. This includes the following live TV streaming services:

fuboTV – Live streams of FOX are available on fuboTV. Subscribers will be able to watch the iHeart Radio Music Awards 2020 or record the event for viewing at a later date. Sling TV – FOX is available on Sling TV in select markets through the provider’s Blue and Orange & Blue packages. The iHeartRadio Music Awards 2020 will be available through Sling TV, but viewers will need to check if FOX is available in their location before signing up for the service. 

Sling TV Blue costs $30/mo., while the Blue & Orange package is $45/mo. It provides 10 hours of Cloud DVR storage, which can be upgraded to 50 for an additional $5/mo. And the whole family can watch the awards show, as the Blue package provides three simultaneous streams. The Blue & Orange plan comes with four. The provider offers a $10 discount on one month of service instead of a free trial. 

YouTube TV – YouTube TV’s channel lineup includes FOX, which means subscribers can catch watch the iHeart Radio Music Awards live. The platform offers unlimited cloud DVR storage for up to nine months. YouTube TV allows users to watch on 3 simultaneous streams and costs $49.99/mo. Music fans can catch the event without paying a cent by signing up for YouTube TV’s seven-day free trial.

How to watch the iHeart Radio Music Awards with an antenna

Music fans will also be able to watch the iHeart Radio Music Awards each year by tuning in with an antenna. Viewers can also use a device like Tablo DVR or HDHomeRun to stream their antenna to an Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, or Roku.
