Live from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, tonight is the first Republican Presidential debate of 2024 and the fifth of this election cycle. Three candidates qualified for tonight’s debate – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, and former President Donald Trump, however, only Haley and DeSanits are expected to be on stage.

CNN’s Jake Tapper and Dana Bash will be moderating tonight’s debate between the two candidates. With the Iowa causes only five days away, DeSanti and Haley will make their cases in front of the nation. There are three more debates planned by the end of the month, with ABC expecting to host one at Saint Anselm College on January 18 and CNN providing coverage at New England College on January 18.
