How to watch the Academy of Country Music Awards

Note: This article will be updated once COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted and schedules come out.

Country music’s biggest awards ceremony is back for 2020. The 55th Academy of Country Music Awards is set to celebrate both well-known stars and emerging talent on the country scene.

Although some details are still under wraps, we do know a little about what to expect. Keith Urban — 15-time award-winner and the academy’s current Entertainer of the Year — will be hosting the show for the very first time, and there will be show-stopping performances and unexpected collaborations.

The nominations, however, have been revealed. Maren Morris and Thomas Rhett are tied for the most nominations this year, with Morris earning her fourth Female Artist of the Year nomination and Rhett receiving a nod in the Entertainer of the Year category. The likes of Kacey Musgraves and Blake Shelton also feature heavily in the list. Musgraves has been nominated for Female Artist of the Year a whopping seventh time.

As well as familiar faces, the Academy of Country Music Awards 2020 has nominated 25 industry names for the first time. Justin Bieber is a surprising addition. “10,000 Hours”, his song with 2019 Duo of the Year, Dan + Shay, has been nominated in 4 categories, including Song of the Year and Video of the Year.

Have the ACM Awards been rescheduled for 2020?

Yes, the ACM Awards show has been rescheduled to Sept. 16 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was originally scheduled for April 5 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Live TV streaming services for the Academy of Country Music Awards

Luckily, several live TV streaming services offer access to CBS, so you can get a front-row view and easily watch the Country Academy Music Awards.

AT&T TV Now, fuboTV, Hulu, and YouTube TV all feature CBS on their channel list. Plus, CBS has a subscription service called CBS All Access, through which you can enjoy live TV and thousands of episodes of your favorite CBS shows for just $5.99/mo. (A slightly pricier plan, costing $9.99/mo., removes ads and lets you download content for offline viewing.) Try with a seven-day trial.

If you want to watch more than just CBS in your spare time, opt for one of the following live TV companies. All are available on numerous devices, from iOS and Android models to smart TVs and even gaming consoles and feature a seven-day free trial.

AT&T TV Now

AT&T TV Now offers seven plans — the most popular two are the Plus and Max options. The former offers 45+ channels for $65/mo., while the latter gives you more than 60 channels for $80/mo. Cloud DVR storage is pretty substantial with a 500-hour limit, and you can watch 3 streams at once on different devices. The service also throws in HBO for free. (Other premium networks come with an added cost.)

fuboTV

fuboTV has three main packages, ranging from $54.99/mo. to $79.99/mo. (Plus, there is a special Spanish-language plan that is charged quarterly.) The standard option comes with more than 85 channels and plenty of on-demand content. Subscribers can also enjoy 30 hours of cloud DVR storage and 2 simultaneous streams. You can increase this to 500 DVR hours and 3 streams for an additional monthly fee. Another feature offered by fuboTV is Lookback: a button that lets you watch anything the service has aired within the previous 72 hours.

Hulu

Now the biggest live TV streaming service, Hulu‘s main Live TV package costs $54.99/mo. and gives you 60+ channels together with an extensive library of on-demand shows and movies. But, if you just want to watch live TV using the service, you can do so for $53.99/mo. However, subscribers to this reduced rate plan will not get a free trial. Whichever package you opt for, you will get 50 hours of DVR storage and 2 simultaneous streams. These can be upgraded to 200 storage hours and unlimited streams at home for a small fee.

YouTube TV

One of the simplest services to wrap your head around, YouTube TV only has one plan. Costing $49.99/mo., it comes with more than 70 channels, unlimited cloud DVR storage, and 3 simultaneous streams. You can keep recorded content for nine months. Until March 15, you can take advantage of a free two-week trial. After that, the trial period will revert back to the standard seven days.

How to watch the 55th Academy of Country Music Awards 2020 with an antenna

Another way to watch the ACM Awards is to use an antenna. In most parts of the US, an antenna is an alternative way to watch major networks like CBS without paying a thing. (You can check which channels are available in your area via Antenna Web.)

If you use Apple TV, Fire TV, or Roku, you can even use devices like an HDHomeRun or Tablo DVR to stream an antenna to your TV device. Not only are these products cost-effective and super easy to set up, but they will also give you a crisp HD picture of the Country Music Awards and more.

The final cut

While cable used to be the only way to watch major events like the Academy of Country Music Awards, live TV streaming services, and antennas provide a great viewing experience at a competitive price. AT&T TV Now, fuboTV, Hulu, and YouTube TV all offer access. With numerous options out there, it has never been easier to find something that works for you and your family.

Simply select your antenna or subscription plan, and get ready for the best of the country music world this April.
