The WNBA’s future has arrived at The Shed at Hudson Yards in New York City. The 2025 WNBA Draft marks a significant moment for the sport, with a strong class of rookies set to shape the league’s future.
Paige Bueckers (UConn) is widely anticipated to be the No. 1 overall pick by the Dallas Wings. Bueckers, coming off of last month’s national championship victory, has been a prominent figure in college basketball and is expected to make an immediate impact in the WNBA. Following her, forward-center Dominique Malonga (France) and Kiki Iriafen (USC) are projected to be top picks, bringing versatility and pro-ready skills to the league. This year’s draft class has more depth than recent years, including international prospects like Justė Jocytė (Lithuania) and Ajsa Sivka (Slovenia), who are expected to make an immediate impact on their future teams.
The Chicago Sky look to infuse their roster with young talent after acquiring the No. 11 overall pick from the Minnesota Lynx. With the trade, the Sky have four first-round picks: No. 10, No. 11, No. 16, and No. 22. Notably, the Las Vegas Aces forfeited their first-round pick.
