Disney+ has debuted the first trailer and key art for Lucasfilm’s highly anticipated new original series, Star Wars: The Acolyte. This thrilling live-action series is set to launch on Tuesday, June 4, with the first two episodes available exclusively on Disney+.

In Star Wars: The Acolyte, an investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master, portrayed by Lee Jung-jae, against a dangerous warrior from his past, played by Amandla Stenberg. As the story unfolds, they find themselves on a dark path where sinister forces reveal that all is not what it seems.

The series features an impressive ensemble cast, including Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Anne Moss. This star-studded lineup is sure to bring the rich and complex characters of the Star Wars universe to life.

Leslye Headland, known for her work on Russian Doll, created the series, which is based on the Star Wars franchise by George Lucas. Headland also serves as an executive producer alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King, and Jason Micallef. Charmaine DeGraté and Kor Adana are the co-executive producers, with Rayne Roberts, Damian Anderson, Eileen Shim, and Rob Bredow as producers.

Headland directed the premiere episodes (Episodes 101 & 102), setting the tone for the series. She is joined by directors Kogonada (Episodes 103 & 107), Alex Garcia Lopez (Episodes 104 & 105), and Hanelle Culpepper (Episodes 106 & 108), who each bring their unique vision to the show.

The series’ score is composed by award-winning composer Michael Abels, known for his work on the films Get Out and Us. Abels’ music is expected to add an extra layer of intensity and emotion to the already gripping narrative.
