All eyes will be on the Lone Star Series aka the Silver Boot Series during the 2023 ALCS when the Houston Astros take on the Texas Rangers. The Astros are the reigning and defending World Series champions and they sealed their seventh consecutive berth in the ALCS after closing out the Twins in a five-game series. The Rangers are coming off a surprising sweep over the No. 1 Orioles in the ALDS and are searching for their first AL pennant since 2011.

These two Texas rivals met for the first time in 2001, with the Astros squeaking out a 5-4 win. Over their 266 meetings, the Rangers lead 134-132 in a close series, however, the Astros won their most recent face-off, 12-3, back in September. This year is the first time that they have met in the postseason which will give the winner Texas-sized bragging rights.

Everything may be bigger in Texas, but you don’t have to be a Texan to mess with this explosive showdown between in-state rivals. Cord cutters have more ways than ever to watch the Astros and Rangers compete in the 2023 ALCS without cable. You can find out more information, below.
