How to Watch Oilers vs. Panthers Game 1 | 2024 Stanley Cup Finals Live on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV & More on June 8

A new champion of the NHL will be crowned in a best-of-seven series during the 2024 Stanley Cup Finals, which will stream live on ESPN+. The Eastern Conference champion Florida Panthers will have home-ice advantage against the Western Conference champion Edmonton Oilers.

This matchup is historic for being the furthest distance between two cities in the NHL for the championship series. The Panthers are appearing in their second consecutive Stanley Cup Finals after losing in five games against the Vegas Golden Knights in 2023. The Panthers are hoping that the third time is a charm after losing their first Stanley Cup appearance in a four-game sweep against the Colorado Avalanche in 1996.

For the eighth time in their history, the Edmonton Oilers have made it to the Stanley Cup Finals. Known for employing “The Great One” Wayne Gretzky, who helped lead the franchise to five Stanley Cup victories from 1984 to 1990, the Oilers are looking to add a sixth title. The last time they appeared in the FInals was in 2006, in which they lost a heartbreaking Game 7 against the Carolina Hurricanes.
