This weekend another chapter will be added to a storied rivalry in college football. The Michigan Wolverines are ranked 5th in the College Football Playoffs rankings, while the Ohio State Buckeyes are ranked 2nd which makes Saturday’s game one of the most important games of the weekend.

Known as “The Game,” the Buckeyes vs. Wolverines rivalry is one of the fiercest and oldest rivalries in college football. The teams first met in 1897 and have played every year from 1918 to 2020. The pair did not take the field in 2020 due to the ongoing pandemic, but fans could not be more thankful for this year’s post-Thanksgiving matchup.

Saturday’s game is a huge game for the Big Ten foes, the winner will surely represent the Big 10 East in the Big Ten Championship Game for a chance to secure one of the four playoff spots in the College Football Playoffs. Both teams are 10-1 and the loser of Saturday’s game will likely be on the outside looking in when the final College Football Playoff rankings are unveiled.

Michigan leads the all-time series 58-51-6 but Ohio State has won 17 of their last 19 games including a 56-27 blowout in 2019, their most recent contest. If Michigan can turn the tide and win over the Buckeyes, this would be a statement for head coach Jim Harbaugh, who hasn’t beat his scarlet nemesis since becoming the Wolverines head coach in 2015. Harbaugh, a former Michigan QB, went 2-0 as a starter against the Buckeyes during his playing career.

Michigan will host The Game at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where over 107,000 fans are expected to be in attendance cheering on their team. Cord cutters can find out how to watch Ohio State-Michigan below.
