For the second time in 24 years, Futurama has been revived for another season after being canceled a decade ago. Created by The Simpsons creator Matt Groening, the series follows Philip J. Fry, a slacker who was cryogenically persevered for 1000 years and revived on December 31, 2999.
The latest reboot of the series will feature 20 episodes available to stream on Hulu. The eighth season will be split equally across two release parts with the majority of the main voice cast returning.
Fans of the series will happy to know that the following actors are reviving their roles as legendary characters: Philip J. Fry (voiced by Billy West), Turanga Leela (voiced by Katey Sagal), Bender Bending, Rodriguez (voiced by John DiMaggio), Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth (voiced by Billy West), Hermes Conrad (voiced by Phil LaMarr), Dr. John A. Zoidberg (voiced by Billy West), Amy Wong (voiced by Lauren Tom), Zapp Brannigan (voiced by Billy West), Kif Kroker (voiced by Maurice LaMarche), Nibbler (voiced by Frank Welker), “Mom” (voiced by Tress MacNeille), and Scruffy (voiced by David Herman).
