The 2022 Formula 1 season will open with the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix from the Bahrain International Circuit. Established in 2004, the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix was the first F1 race to take place in the Middle East.

2021 winner Lewis Hamilton looks to win the race for the fourth consecutive time. Hamilton has won the event 5-times which is more than anyone in history. The 7-time F1 champion has an upcoming documentary, and a win in Bahrain would add another celebratory moment to the film.
