Lightning thunderstorm flash over the night sky. Concept on topic weather, cataclysms (hurricane, Typhoon, tornado, storm)Hurricane Dorian is a monstrous storm expected to hit the US. Recently many of our readers have been wondering how to legally access The Weather Channel without a 2 year TV contract of cable TV. So I wanted to take a minute and lay out your options to watch The Weather Channel without a long-term cable TV contract. Last year I lived through Hurricane Harvey so my thoughts go out to everyone getting ready for Dorian.)

Recently several new options to legally access the weather channel have been announced so here is our fully updated guide on how to legally watch The Weather Channel’s coverage of Hurricane Dorian on Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, & more:

Frndly

A few weeks ago, Frndly quietly launched a new live TV streaming service that offers 12 channels including The Weather Channel starting at $5.99 a month. With this package, you will get the Hallmark Channel, Game Show Network, The Weather Channel, Outdoor Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, Hallmark Drama, PixL, Light TV, BabyFirst TV, QVC, Sportsman Channel, and World Fishing Network. Frndly says they plan to expand to 20 channels by the end of 2019. If you want the Weather Channel in HD it costs $7.99 a month.

FuboTV

The last option is Fubo TV and its Fubo Premier plan. There you will find The Weather Channel available on its $54.99 a month package for the first month.

(The best part is they offer a free trial allowing you to test them out before you pay.)

Note: AT&T TV NOW also offers The Weather Channel but charges over $100 a month.

SiriusXM (Audio Only)

The Weather Channel’s coverage of Hurricane Dorian, is now free on SiriusXM on channel 105 and will be free through Tuesday, September 3 at noon ET. Current SiriusXM subscribers and non-subscribers can listen to The Weather Channel for free on any SiriusXM radio or streaming online HERE. (Subject to change without notice.)

Now The Weather Channel is not your only option to watch live coverage of Dorian. Here are some 100% free option:

WeatherNation

Looking for something other than the Weather Channel? Check out WeatherNation, a free 24/7 news channel available on every major streaming player such as the Roku, Fire TV, and Apple TV.

Local Weather

Local weather is often the best weather to see what is happening in your hometown. The first option is always a great antenna to get your local station. (During Hurricane Harvey, many cable networks went out but over the air TV stayed on the air.)

Sadly locals are not always available over the air. NewsON is a free service currently available on Roku and many smartphones. With NewsON you can stream your local news for free live and on-demand, giving you access to all the news you need every day.
