Comcast Cable Truck

Comcast is one of several internet providers participating in the Affordable Connectivity Program. Those who qualify for this program get $30 off monthly internet and mobile bills. Households on Tribal lands can get up to $75 off said services. Read on to see if you qualify and if so, how to apply.

Eligible households have a total income of twice the federal poverty line or less. An individual qualifies if their income is $29,160 or less, while a family of four is eligible for a maximum of $60,000 per year. You can also qualify if you receive certain federal assistance aid, such as SNAP/EBT, Medicaid, Lifeline, Federal Public Housing Assistance, WIC, or free/reduced school meals. Veterans and Survivors Pension benefactors also qualify.

Comcast lets you apply directly through its website, though you can also use the official Affordable Connectivity Program website. Just make sure to give Comcast your approval number after to have it applied to future bills. The discount starts as soon as you’re approved, so you’ll see the savings on your next billing cycle. The monthly credit will appear on your bill statement, first applying to internet services and then toward Comcast Mobile if there is money left over.

The program covers Comcast’s internet services, including unlimited data plan and related equipment rental fees. For Comcast’s Prepaid Internet, the discount will be a credit or refund after the initial 30-day period covered by refills.

Be aware that any internet data overage charges will not be covered by the Affordable Connectivity Program. Other services not included are the purchase of a modem for Comcast Prepaid Internet, Comcast Mobile devices or protection plans, Comcast TVs, Voice, or Home features.

As outlined on Comcast’s website, some more disqualifying factors include:

  • Customers who receive internet service provided to them by their residential building through Xfinity Communities or Xfinity On Campus and do not have an individual Xfinity account with upgraded internet services
  • Customers whose internet account is in voluntary seasonal suspension status
  • Customers whose Internet Essentials service is provided through an organization or school-sponsored program

Any of the above-mentioned customers who qualify for ACP can enroll in ACP and apply their credit toward their Xfinity Mobile service.
