Wish your Amazon Echo could answer in Disney-themed voices? Wish granted! Hey Disney! is now available on U.S. Amazon Echo devices.
The Disney Magical Companion allows users to have weather forecasts, timers, and alarms respond using animation favorites such as Minnie Mouse, Fozzie Bear, Donald Duck, Dory, Mater, and BB-8 from Disney, Pixar, and Star Wars character voices.
“Hey Disney! represents the art of what’s possible when two major companies marry their creative and technical expertise. This is a whole new way to bring Disney storytelling to life for fans of all ages and we are thrilled to offer a magical, new experience for customers to enjoy on their Echo devices,” said Mark Yoshitake, the General Manager of Director of Alexa Skills.
The Disney-themed voices also add interactive adventures alongside the Disney characters by saying “Hey Disney! let’s go on an adventure!”, allowing for storytelling by asking Disney to “read me a story”, “play a soundscape” to hear an enchanting mix of music, and say “let’s play Trivia” to activate Disney’s trivia games.

The service costs $5.99 a year and will auto-renew at the end of your subscription. You can activate the feature by telling your Amazon Echo, “Alexa, introduce me to Hey Disney!” You can also subscribe through the Alexa Skills store. Hey Disney! is included with Amazon Kids Plus subscriptions.
To use the feature, just say “Hey Disney!” to activate the voice assistant. Any Amazon Echo services not supported by Hey Disney! will be answered by the standard Alexa voice.
This is the first customizable assistant available on select Amazon Echo devices. Which devices are eligible? The list has yet to be disclosed, according to The Verge.
