The Heroes & Icons Network will ring in the new year with a toast to The Twilight Zone, and a marathon run through Rod Serling’s surreal masterpiece.

The party starts on New Year’s Eve at 8:00 p.m. ET and runs through January 2 at 6:00 a.m. ET. The suspenseful binge fest features 68 episodes of the icon series, including fan favorites “Monsters Are Due on Maple Street,” “Nightmare at 20,000 Feet”, and “The Eye of the Beholder.”

The Twilight Zone debuted in 1959 and ran through 1964 and was the first racially integrated show. Serling was inspired to create the series after he grew frustrated with network censors and decided to get weird with his scripts. Through a blend of science fiction, horror, and fantasy, the series forever changed television with themes of morality and human nature.

Generations of viewers were hooked by its unsettling and sometimes horrific stories featuring ordinary people who find themselves in extraordinary situations. The stories are still relevant today as they use the protective veil of fiction to weave stories highlighting societal issues and common struggles of the human condition.

The series inspired several series such as Black Mirror, The X-Files, and Twin Peaks, as well as films such as The Mist, Child’s Play, and Us. In 2019, Jordan Peele rebooted the series for two seasons with his own twists for Paramount+.

The Heroes & Icons Network hosts series featuring heroic characters and iconic series, such as the five original live-action Star Trek series, Walker, Texas Ranger, Nash Bridges, MacGyver, Hawaii Five-O, The A-Team, and Lethal Weapon. The channel hosts action, adventure, and science fiction 24 hours a day.

The network is available on over-the-air broadcast television and select cable and satellite systems. Audiences can also watch the channel on Frndly TV and Philo. Visit HandiTV to learn where to watch in your area.
