This new month brings a fresh lineup to Sundance Now, including the Academy Award-winning period drama The Young Victoria starring Emily Blunt and the newest Sundance Now Original true crime miniseries The Night Caller.

Plus, one of the most anticipated moments this month is the return of the series A Discovery of Witches that’s back for season 2. Critics have described it as a Twilight/Harry Potter/Being Human/Bond movie blend that’s not to be missed.

Friday, Jan. 1

THE YOUNG VICTORIA

Academy Award-winner. TROUBLE THE WATER

As Hurricane Katrina raged around them, Scott and Kimberly Rivers Roberts took shelter with some neighbors in their attic in New Orleans’ Ninth Ward. Kimberly, an aspiring rapper, brought her video camera and filmed herself, her husband and their friends before and during the devastating storm. This footage is at the heart of Tia Lessin and Carl Deal’s documentary about the Hurricane Katrina tragedy, along with the filmmakers’ own footage of Kimberly and Scott rebuilding their lives afterwards. CLEANING UP, Ep 2 (Sundance Now Exclusive)

Another episode of the high-stakes insider trading British drama. Sam’s money-making plan starts to bear fruit, but it’s not long before complications arise. The listening device is discovered cutting off the source of information leading Sam to enlist the help of fellow cleaner Mina for a risky scam.

TOTAL CONTROL, Ep 4 (Sundance Now Exclusive)

Another episode of the award-winning Australian political drama. Alex deals with the fallout back in Winton and some of her past actions catch up with her. She learns some interesting information about a new company that’s setting up in town. Back in Canberra a new opportunity presents itself to Jonathan. Jonathan and Tracey go around town trying to track down Jess.

THE COMMONS, Ep 6 (Sundance Now Exclusive)

Another episode of the timely and gripping drama. Lloyd and Eadie find themselves in the bombed remains of their relationship now that Eadie’s pregnancy has finally been revealed. But Lloyd can sense Eadie’s still hiding something from him.
