PBS is known for having quality, wholesome programming, and what better time to stream its free lineup than Christmas? You’ll easily be swept away into the holiday spirit with a Christmas concert special from The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square, discovering old Christmas traditions from 500 years ago with Lucy Worsley’ 12 Days of Tudor Christmas, a holiday themed episode of Call The Midwife, and lots more.

NEW HOLIDAY PROGRAMS

20 YEARS OF CHRISTMAS WITH THE TABERNACLE CHOIR

Premieres: Monday, December 13, 8:00 p.m. ET

Encores: Friday, December 24, 9:00 p.m. ET

This December, The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square’s beloved annual Christmas concert tradition celebrates its 20th anniversary with a special new two-hour retrospective. 20 YEARS OF CHRISTMAS WITH THE TABERNACLE CHOIR welcomes Tony® Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell as guest artist and narrator.  Intimate ballads, behind-the-scenes views and storytelling by Stokes combine with highlights from the past two decades featuring soul-stirring performances from more than 40 world-renowned artists, including Kristin Chenoweth, Audra McDonald, Kelli O’Hara, Gladys Knight, Angela Lansbury, the Muppets® from SESAME STREET®, Hugh Bonneville and Richard Thomas. The anniversary special reminds viewers of how this tradition has touched audiences for years and evokes the love, unity and peace of the season.

CHRISTMAS AT BELMONT (2021)

Premieres: Monday, December 20, 9:00 p.m. ET

CHRISTMAS AT BELMONT 2021 features alumnus country/gospel singer Josh Turner and Belmont University students. Taped in Belmont’s Fisher Center for the Performing Arts, the show includes holiday favorites and songs from Turner’s new Christmas album.

CALL THE MIDWIFE HOLIDAY SPECIAL (2021)

Premieres: Saturday, December 25, 9:00 p.m. ET

Christmas 1966 promises to be a memorable one as Lucille and Cyril prepare for their upcoming winter wedding. The Nonnatus House team are faced with their busiest Christmas Day ever as the Maternity Home is filled with expectant moms, each with their own challenging case. Luckily Mother Mildred is on hand to support the team.

UNITED IN SONG: CELEBRATING THE AMERICAN DREAM

Premieres: Friday, December 31, 9:00 p.m. ET

Ring in the New Year with PBS and an all-star concert performed on location at Philadelphia’s historic Independence Hall. Hosted by Chita Rivera with performances by David Archuleta, Paulo Szot, Midori, Lea Salonga, Pepe Romero, Deborah Cox, Judy Collins, Cassadee Pope, Brandee Younger, members of The Washington Ballet and more—joined by Luke Frazier and the American Pops Orchestra.

Join Lucy Worsley on a 12-day extravaganza as she discovers that much of what we enjoy in contemporary Christmas—from carols to turkey, gift-giving to mistletoe and mulled wine—has surprising Tudor origins, rooted in devotion and charity.
