Here is What You’ll Find in the New Apple TV App For Cord Cutters

On Monday, Apple launched a new app for Apple TV users. When the Apple+ streaming service launches, this is where you’ll find that content. In the meantime, you can subscribe to channels through the app.

According to Apple’s announcement, the all-new Apple TV app, which brings together all the ways to watch TV into one app, is available starting today in over 100 countries across iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and select Samsung smart TVs.

With the new app, you can use Family Sharing. With this feature, up to six family members can share their subscriptions by using their Apple ID and password. You’ll also be able to watch online or offline, even on channels and series that normally don’t allow offline viewing, like HBO’s Game of Thrones.

A Watch Now section offers options for recommended movies and TV shows, based on your viewing history. You’ll also be able to easily find your favorite content across all devices. A Kids section is a curated collection of content that’s safe for all ages. You’ll also find a Sports section with rows for each of your favorite teams. In the app, you’ll also have access to the content you’ve downloaded, with the option to browse by recently downloaded or by genre.

To use the new app on your Apple TV, you’ll need to install the free iOS 12.3 and tvOS 12.3 software update. After that, the app will appear at the beginning of your home screen menu.
