Here is Everything We Know About Amazon’s New Fire TV, Including Release Date, Wifi, & More

Later this month, Amazon will hold a device event that is expected to include two new Fire TVs. Already, these new Fire TVs have cleared through the FCC, giving us some details about them. Today, we are going to break down everything we know about Amaozn’s new Fire TV that is coming soon.

How many new Fire TVs will there be?

According to the FCC filing, there are two new Fire TV models. One device will support the WiFi 6 standard, and the other will support the WiFi 6E standard, the newest standard on the market. This likely points to a stand Fire TV Stick and a higher-end model.

What do we expect to be released?

It’s likely to be a higher-end and a lower-end Fire TV. From the looks of it we could be seeing a new Fire TV Stick 4K and Fire TV Stick 4K Max or something along those lines.

What is likely to be the biggest improvement with these new Fire TVs?

Look for the WiFi jump to WiFi 6 and WiFi 6E to be the biggest improvement. These new standards will be a major improvement over the WiFi in the current Fire V Stick 4K and Fire TV Stick 4K Max. However, you will need a router that can support the new WiFi 6 and WiFi 6E standards to take advantage of it.

Any improvements in RAM or processor are unlikely to return a massive improvement in performance the way that the new WiFi 6 will. This new standard will give you a far better streaming experience compared to older WiFi standards.

Should you wait?

Honestly, if you don’t have a WiFi 6 or WiFi 6E router in your house, you may want to think about taking advantage of all the deals currently out there.

This lines up with the recent sales on the Fire TV Stick 4K and Fire TV Stick 4K Max being on sale most of the summer. You can get the Fire TV Stick 4K Max for just $26.99! That’s down from the typical list price of $54.99. It’s a really great price for a powerful streaming player. Plus it comes with the new Wifi 6 for faster streaming over WiFi.

Amazon also has its Fire TV Stick 4K on sale for $24.99, but for the extra $2, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max is a better option.

When will the new Fire TV’s be announced?

Recently, Amazon announced a September 20, 2023, event for new devices. This date was announced by Amazon’s Senior Vice President of Devices and Services, David Limp, who posted this save-the-date announcement:

“The Devices & Services team has already had a very busy year, and now that Amazon’s HQ2 is officially open, it only feels right to gather there in a few months to share a bit more of what we’ve been working on. Mark your calendar for 9/20 for some news from us!”

It seems very likely these new Fire TVs will be announced at this event.

For now, that is all we know. As we learn more, we will post updates.
