HBO Max is entering the health and wellness space with its new relaxation series, A World of Calm. From the creators of the popular Calm app and Nutopia, the 10-episode series will feature mesmerizing imagery and relaxing narration for a soothing experience designed to help viewers unwind and destress.

“With the considerable amount of stress and chaos we are all experiencing at this particularly challenging time, we could all use a bit of guided relaxation and A World of Calm is here to help,” said Jennifer O’Connell, executive vice president of non-fiction and kids programming for HBO Max. “With soothing imagery and tranquil narration, this is one HBO Max original that we hope becomes part of your daily routine.”

The series takes the next step adding a visual element to the success of Calm’s Sleep Stories that has more than 250 million listens. A World of Calm will take viewers on an enchanting journey of visuals set to music with scientifically-engineered narratives read by celebrities including Mahershala Ali, Idris Elba, Oscar Isaac, Nicole Kidman, Zoë Kravitz, Lucy Liu, Cillian Murphy, and Keanu Reeves.

HBO Max isn’t the first streaming service to dive into a more genre of relaxing meditational content. Earlier this year, Disney+ released its Zenimation series, a 10-episode themed experience that brings captivating animation scenes and heightened audio from The Little Mermaid, Moana, and Frozen and more. Each episode lasts only 5-7 minutes with no dialogue needed for a zen, ASMR-like experience.

HBO Max’s A World of Calm has just gotten the green light, so no release date has been announced yet.
