HBO Max subscribers will notice another name change in the streaming app. Starting today, HBO’s linear channels will be getting updated names “to better reflect the respective content offerings.”

Here are the new channel names:

  • HBO2 will now be HBO Hits
  • HBO Signature will now be HBO Drama
  • HBO Zone will now be HBO Movies
  • MoreMAX will now be Cinemax Hits
  • ActionMAX will now be Cinemax Action
  • 5starMAX will now be Cinemax Classics

The updated names will be available to HBO Max subscribers as live in-app “Channels,” which launched last year on select plans. Channels allow subscribers to watch live HBO programming via simulcasts.

The channel name changes are in line with the service’s rebrand. Warner Bros. Discovery shared at Upfronts in May that the streaming service would be switching its name from Max back HBO Max over the summer, to reflect its ties to the HBO brand and its premium content.

“The powerful growth we’ve seen in our global streaming service is built around the quality of our programming,” David Zaslav said at the time. “Today, we are bringing back HBO, the brand that represents the highest quality in media, to further accelerate that growth in the years ah
