HBO Max Releases Newly Remastered HD Version of ‘Sex and the City’

You can experience Carrie Bradshaw’s New York City lifestyle from a whole perspective now. A newly remastered HD version of the classic series Sex and the City is now available to stream on HBO Max as of Friday, February 12.

The series was originally shot on film mastered on standard definition, but each negative has now been meticulously scanned at 4K to give viewers an HD experience. It’s the first time the series can be seen at 16:9 full frame aspect ratio.

So if your social calendar this week isn’t quite as thriving as Carrie’s, Sex and the City is a great pick for a February binge.

This newly remastered surprise comes after HBO Max recently announced a spin-off of the classic series has been ordered. And Just Like That will begin shooting this spring with 10 half hour episodes heading straight to the streaming service.
