LocalBTV is a live TV streaming service that focuses on streaming local TV. Launching back in 2017, first in the greater San Francisco area, it streamed 35 local channels for free on its app. With the service, you can watch local channels for free for the channels it has contracts with. Now though the service has been down for over 48 hours. This has raised questions about if the service will be returning or if it will shut down withmany of our readers are asking. So today we are going to try answer that question.

The outage has taken the service offline on both its website and mobile apps. This has left viewers unable to watch their local programming through the service. Sadly the issue is not with your device, and you will need to wait for LocalBTV to fix the outage before the service will work again.

Cord Cutters News has been unable to get ahold of anyone at LocalBTV who will be willing to comment on what is happening. Not only is the LocalBTV website offline but so is its parent company’s website Didjatv.com. Also, all emails we have for LocalBTV employees are now no longer working.

The official social media accounts for LocalBTV have not posted any updates since March 2023 on both Facebook and X formerly Twitter.

With that said according to Linkedin the employees of Didja Inc the parent company of LocalBTV are still listed as working there. It seems they are will at least for now planning to continue operating the company. What exactly that means for LocalBTV is unknown right now.

For now, it seems too early to say that LocalBTV will permanently shut down but this outage seems to be more than just a temporary outage. Cord Cutters News will continue to look into the outage and hopefully, someone from LocalBTV will be able to comment on the outage soon.
