The iconic Guinness World Records, known for their highly-anticipated annual book releases, are now launching their own, branded TV channel, according to a report from Deadline.

Alongside the recently founded GWR Studios and U.S. streaming service atmosphere, this newest channel will stream on the FAST network (Free Ad-Supported TV). This new channel will include original shows such as Guinness World Records: Gone Viral as well as a number of yet-to-be-named shows that will focus more on records relating to fitness, sports, and human toughness.

This exciting new channel is “a pinnacle moment for both BWR Studios and Guinness World Records in general.” says Kathryn Hubbard, the Head of Licensing over at Guinness World Records. For the 70 year British brand, this might just be a step in the right direction for the once iconic book publication company.

As the market for physical books has decreased dramatically in recent years, Guinness World Records has fought back against the steady decline, transforming themselves into a multimedia brand. They post regular video content on their Youtube channel and cater towards younger audiences, keeping the novelty of record-breaking well and alive. Adding a TV channel to the mix, partnered alongside Atmosphere, could help push Guinness World Records in a positive direction.
