Winter is coming… HBO has revealed the premiere date of House of the Dragon, the highly anticipated Game of Thrones prequel series. Fans better mark their calendars for Sunday, August 21, because that’s when the first episode of the new series debuts on HBO, and will be available to stream on HBO Max.

The series is based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” series, which is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, and tells the story of House Targaryen.

In addition to the prequel series House of the Dragon, there are also rumors circulating about at least three other GoT projects coming to life at HBO. The most progressed project is 9 Voyages or, Sea Snake with a full creative team set up including Gotham developer Bruno Heller. The series will be based on Corlys Velaryon’s voyages aboard the Sea Snake ship.
