Earlier this week, Google decided to end support for the Dropcam and the Nest Secure home security system in 2024, with the exact date being April 8th, 2024. These are among the few remaining Nest products that haven’t been brought over to Google Home app as Google has been slowly bringing all of its smart home devices into a single app.

If you have a Dropcam camera you will be able to keep using it until April 8th, 2024, after that the camera will stop working. To help with this news Google is offering affected customers an indoor wired Nest Cam if they subscribe to Nest Aware. Nonsubscribers will receive a 50% off coupon for a Nest Cam. This promotion will run until May 7th, 2024, so don’t forget to take advantage of it if you want.

Google had previously committed to supporting Nest Products for a minimum of five years but ended up supporting the products for 9 years after it purchased Nest in 2014.

It’s great news that Google Home and Nest are finally merging with one another, along with the new Google Home app in its seemingly final stages of development. If you have the Nest Home Security Google is offering help switching over to ADT.
