Google Photos is Coming to Samsung TVs

Samsung Electronics has announced a partnership with Google to integrate Google Photos directly into its lineup of smart TVs, marking a significant step in transforming living rooms into personal cinematic galleries for family memories. The collaboration will allow you to bring your cherished photos and videos from your smartphones to the expansive screens of Samsung TVs, allowing everyone to relive special moments in stunning, immersive detail.

The initiative focuses on making personal photo libraries more accessible and engaging on the big screen. Users will simply sign in with their Google Account, after which backed-up photos and videos will seamlessly appear on the TV. This integration goes beyond basic viewing by incorporating curated experiences that organize content by people, places, and significant events. Google Photos will also tie into Samsung’s existing features, such as Daily+ and Daily Board, enabling memories to surface naturally throughout the day in contextually relevant ways. This approach enriches daily interactions, turning the TV into a dynamic hub that highlights meaningful moments at convenient times, all enhanced by Samsung’s Vision AI Companion.

“Google Photos is a home for people’s photos and videos, helping them organize and bring their memories to life,” said Shimrit Ben-Yair, Vice President, Google Photos and Google One. “We’re excited to bring Google Photos to Samsung TVs — helping people enjoy their favorite photos on a larger screen and reconnect with their memories in new ways.”

The rollout will occur in phases throughout 2026, beginning with the Memories feature in early 2026—likely around March. This will debut curated stories drawn from users’ collections, organized around key themes like family gatherings, travel destinations, or life milestones. Samsung TVs will be the first platform to offer this experience on a large screen, with exclusivity for the initial six months, giving owners a head start over other TV brands.

Later in 2026, additional advanced capabilities will arrive. The Create with AI function will leverage Google DeepMind’s Nano Banana image generation and editing model to introduce playful themed templates. Users can apply artistic transformations through Remix, altering the style of photos, or convert static images into short, lively videos via Photo to Video, adding new layers of creativity to personal archives.

Complementing these tools, Personalized Results will enable intelligent slideshows grouped by specific topics or content, such as beach outings, hiking adventures, or trips to iconic locations like Paris. This feature promises effortless exploration, allowing families to dive into thematic collections without manual searching.

The collaboration underscores a shared vision of elevating everyday technology to foster deeper emotional connections. Samsung has long positioned its TVs as central gathering points for households, and extending this to personal photography enhances that role. By delivering photos in a larger, high-quality format, the integration aims to recreate the joy of flipping through physical albums, but with modern convenience and AI-powered intelligence.

This move also highlights the growing emphasis on AI-driven experiences in home entertainment. With Samsung’s AI TVs serving as the initial platform—and potential expansion to older models via software updates—the partnership sets a new standard for how digital memories are shared and preserved in the home.
