Back in January 2023, 9to5Google spotted a new Chromecast in the Google Home app, and ever since that, news of a new Chromecast with Google TV has been quiet. According to 9to5Google, they expect this new model to be a higher-end Chromecast with better speeds than the current model on the market right now.
Now 9to5Google has spotted a new Chromecast with Google TV in Google documents, and this comes after it earlier spotted a new Chromecast with Google TV remote in the Android 14 Beta. This new remote is very similar to the current remote but with a new layout. 9to5Google has a video on their website of what the new remote looks like.
This is not the first time Google has leaked new devices in betas like this by listing them next to current models for testing. Details are still thin, but for almost a year now, Google has been reportedly working on testing a new Chromecast with Google TV. Now, it seems that this device is getting closer to release.
Recently, Google has been investing heavily in Google TV. Releasing a new Chromecast device would fit into this strategy as it has been sometime since the current Chromecast with Google TV was released.
