Today at CES, Google announced that Fast Pair for Chromecast will soon be available on Chromecast with Google TV. Also, TikTok will soon add support for Chromecast in its app, letting you watch TikTok videos on your TV with Chromecast.
With Fast Pair support, you will be able to connect compatible headphones or speakers directly to your Chromecast with Google TV device. This will give you new options for improved sound or private listening without needing to use wires to your TV. Google says support for this will come to more Google TV devices later this year, allowing you easier ways to connect speakers and headphones to your TV.
TikTok will also soon let you cast videos to your Chromecast devices using an Android phone. At first, this will only work with on-demand videos, but Google says TikTok live videos will soon be able to cast to Chromecast also.
Chromecast is also coming to LG TVs used in Hospitality and Healthcare. This will let you cast your videos from your phone to LG TVs in hotels and hospitals. No longer will you need to travel with a streaming player if you want to watch many of your favorite services.
This news comes after yesterday LG announced its 2024 line of TVs will now support Chromecast built-in.
Google also announced that there are over 200 million monthly active devices on Google TV and other Android TV OS devices. This is up from 150 million during CES 2023.
