Lorelai and Rory are headed to Stars Hollow… via Hallmark.

Beginning August 25, Hallmark Channel will start airing Gilmore Girls in weekday blocks from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. and weekend mornings from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. The addition brings a beloved pop culture favorite to Hallmark’s already cozy lineup, just in time for the fall season.

This marks the first time the hit series has aired on Hallmark, joining a slate that includes The Golden Girls, Reba, and Frasier. According to Hallmark Media’s VP of Programming & Acquisitions, Ayn Prince, the decision was all about the tone. “Hallmark shares the same passion for feel-good, whimsical content and characters,” she said in a news release, “making this show and its ever-growing fandom the perfect addition to our Hallmark Channel viewing experience.”

Originally debuting in 2000 on The WB, Gilmore Girls follows the lives of quick-witted, coffee-fueled single mom Lorelai Gilmore and her academically ambitious daughter Rory. Set in the charming fictional town of Stars Hollow, the series quickly earned a cult following for its rapid-fire dialogue, heartwarming themes, and quirky supporting cast.

The show ran for seven seasons and was followed by a Netflix revival, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. Whether you’re tuning in to relive Rory’s Harvard dreams or just craving Luke’s diner coffee, here’s how cord-cutters can watch all the Gilmore Girls drama without a traditional cable package.

How to Watch Gilmore Girls on Hallmark Channel Without Cable

You don’t need a cable subscription to watch Hallmark Channel. Several live TV streaming services carry the network and allow you to watch Gilmore Girls during its new Hallmark airings.

Here are the best options:

  • Frndly TV: The most affordable way to stream Hallmark Channel live. Plans start at just $6.99/month and include all three Hallmark networks.
  • Philo: Another budget-friendly service at $28/month. Includes Hallmark and over 70 channels.
  • Hulu + Live TV: Offers Hallmark Channel as part of its live TV package. Also includes full access to Hulu’s on-demand library.
  • Fubo: A more premium option with Hallmark included in most channel lineups.
  • YouTube TV: Offers Hallmark Channel in its base package with unlimited cloud DVR.

These services all include free trial options, so you can test them out before committing to a subscription.

Can You Stream Gilmore Girls On-Demand?

Absolutely. If you’d rather binge the series on your own time, Gilmore Girls is still available on the following platforms:

  • Netflix: All seven original seasons plus the A Year in the Life revival are currently available to stream in the U.S.
  • Hulu: Some Hallmark programming, including on-demand access to Gilmore Girls, may be available depending on your plan.
  • Hallmark+: Hallmark’s own streaming service (formerly Hallmark Movies Now) launched in 2024 and may eventually carry Gilmore Girls on-demand following its linear airings.

Coffee First, Streaming Second

With Gilmore Girls joining the Hallmark Channel lineup, fans now have a new way to enjoy their favorite show — and it’s perfectly timed for the return of sweater weather. Whether you’re watching live with Frndly TV or catching episodes on Netflix, it’s never been easier to visit Stars Hollow without cable.

Coffee, books, fast-talking dialogue, and now Hallmark? Sounds like fall just got a lot more Gilmore.
