Today the free over the air TV network getTV announced that they have acquired the rights to “Walker, Texas Ranger” as part of the shows 25th-anniversary celebration. Starting on June 4 episodes will be broadcast weekdays from 2:00PM to 6:00PM ET/1-5C and Sundays from 5:00PM-10PM ET/4-7C.
“‘Walker, Texas Ranger’ is one of the most iconic TV crimefighting series of all time, and we know it remains as popular as ever among our getTV viewers. We’re excited to be bringing the adventures of Cordell Walker and his friends to getTV just in time to celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary year.” Said Jeff Meier, getTV SVP Programming, and General Manager.
Originally running for nine seasons, the show features martial artist superstar Norris as Cherokee crimefighter Walker, an old-school Texas Ranger partnered with a former Dallas Cowboy wide receiver, James Trivette, played by Clarence Gilyard Jr. (“Matlock”), who believes in a more modern approach involving computers and cellphones. Sheree J. Wilson (“Dallas”) is assistant district attorney Alex Cahill, character actor Noble Willingham is Ranger-turned-restauranteur C.D. Parker, and for the last three seasons, Nia Peeples (“Pretty Little Liars”) and Judson Mills (“As the World Turns”) are rookie Rangers Sydney Cooke and Francis Gage, respectively.
