Binge-watching your favorite Netflix series just got tastier, as Uber Eats rolls out innovative updates to elevate the food delivery experience. On Wednesday, Uber Eats announced a suite of new features, including a “Live order chat” tool, AI-powered enhancements for merchants, and an incentive for customers to share photos of their meals. These changes aim to streamline communication, improve menu clarity, and make your next snack order even more seamless.

The standout feature, “Live order chat,” allows restaurants and merchants to message customers in real-time to address order details. Whether it’s confirming a replacement for a sold-out item, clarifying special requests, or verifying dietary and allergy preferences, this tool ensures orders are accurate before they leave the kitchen. Available for both delivery and pickup orders, the chat feature is merchant-initiated, meaning customers can only respond to messages started by the restaurant. The conversation ends once the order is handed off to a courier or picked up by the customer.

Uber Eats is also leaning into artificial intelligence to enhance the merchant experience. The app is introducing AI-powered summaries of customer reviews, helping restaurants quickly digest feedback and identify trends. Additionally, AI-generated item descriptions will now populate menus, providing vivid, informative details to guide customers’ choices. For dishes lacking high-quality visuals, Uber Eats is deploying AI to enhance low-resolution images by improving lighting, framing, and presentation—think transforming a snapshot of food in a takeout container into an appetizing plated dish.

As you settle in for your next Netflix marathon, Uber Eats’ latest features promise to make snacking easier as now your order is more likely to be correct when the resturant may not fully understand what you are asking for.
