What is old is new once again, as Hulu is reportedly planning to release season 8 of Futurama this summer. This comes from ComicBook.com who says they have confirmed that the new season of Matt Groening’s hit Futurama show will be coming to Hulu this summer.

This means the new season of Futurama will come almost ten years after the end of season 7.

Futurama was first released in 1999 on Fox and ran until 2003. Revived in 2008 on Comedy Central, it ran until 2013, when it was finally canceled once again.

Set in the year 3000, the show is set around Fry, who finds himself pushed 1,000 years into the future and has to come to terms with how different the world has become.

Created by Matt Groening, best known for his hit Simpsons TV show Futurama has developed a dedicated fan base that Hulu hopes will follow the show to its new home on Hulu.

Futurama is not the only late 90s and early 2000s show coming back to Hulu. Earlier this year, Hulu announced King of The Hill will also be coming revived on Hulu.
