Futurama is coming back for an 11th season on Hulu. The Emmy award-winning series premiered on Fox in 1999 and amassed quite a following of dedicated fans due to its unique blend of scientific humor and the wild adventures of Planet Express, a space delivery crew.

The series has been long rumored to release another season. Pay negotiations between voice actors were one cause for pause in the series continuation.

Earlier this year, Vice President of 20th Century Television Animation Marci Proietto said, “I’ve always felt [Futurama] had more stories to tell.” He went on to say “Viewers can expect the same great humor and great writing they love. For Futurama, it’s like catching up with old friends in the most amazing way.”

The new season will have 10 episodes released weekly on Hulu, half of what the streaming service announced at the beginning of last year.

Coming back to reprise their roles are voice actors Billy West (Philip J. Fry), Katey Sagal (Turanga Leela), John DiMaggio (Bender), Tress MacNeille (Linda), Maurice LaMarche (Morbo), Lauren Tom (Amy Wong), Phil LaMarr (Hermes Conrad), and everyone’s favorite janitor David Herman (Scruffy).

The new season will continue the story (fry and Leela going back in time) while providing enough fresh material to keep new (how do you still exist?) viewers entertained without being confused

The entire series is currently available to stream on Hulu. A trailer has yet to be released but the 11th season is scheduled to premiere this summer on July 24th.

Hulu is also bringing back a number of other animated fan favorites, including King of the Hill and Beavis and Butt-Head

A King of the Hill revival was discussed last year, also coming back after a 13-year intermission with original cast Kathy Najimy, Stephen Root, Pamela Adlon, Johnny Hardwick, and Laren Tom amongst others.

President of ABC Entertainment, Hulu, and Disney Brand Television Craig Erwich said

“We are all so excited to welcome back Hank, Peggy, and Bobby, and to see what they have to say about the world we live in and continue the conversations we began years ago. This show has all of the perfect ingredients to meet this moment in animation at Hulu, and we’re so thankful to be having those conversations alongside this talented group.”

There is no release date yet for King of the Hill, so check back as more information is released.
