Fubo, the popular sports-centric streaming platform, is shaking up the industry with the launch of standalone premium subscriptions. This innovative move allows viewers to access popular channels like FanDuel Sports Network, NBA League Pass, and Paramount+ with Showtime without needing to purchase a base FuboTV package.

This shift is a key part of FuboTV’s “Super Aggregation” strategy, aiming to provide maximum flexibility and choice for consumers. By offering “skinny bundles” alongside its traditional live TV plans, FuboTV caters to a wider range of viewing preferences and budgets.

“Consumers want flexible streaming options that let them subscribe to only the content they want to watch,” said David Gandler, co-founder and CEO of FuboTV. “Our vision to be a Super Aggregator aims to give consumers a seamless way to access all of the content they love within the Fubo ecosystem and at appropriate price points.”

Three Tiers of Service

FuboTV now offers three distinct service tiers:

  • Fubo Free: A free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) service with nearly 200 channels, available to all former FuboTV subscribers and those who purchase standalone premium subscriptions.
  • Premium Subscription Services: Standalone subscriptions to live channels and streaming services like those mentioned above. FuboTV plans to expand this offering with additional options like pay-per-view and transactional video on demand.
  • Live TV Subscriptions: FuboTV’s traditional offering, featuring a comprehensive package of live sports, news, and entertainment channels.

Subscribers to standalone live linear services will enjoy perks like unlimited cloud DVR and simultaneous streaming on multiple devices.
