Nokia’s solutions will enhance the customer experience by offering a Frontier fiber-powered internet that is as fast as it is reliable”.
With this system, Frontier will be able to offer 10 gigabits up and 10 gigabits down internet. Right now most internet service providers are still trying to roll out 1-gigabit internet options. Frontier is hoping their 10-gigabit offer will help them stand out.
This is also likely an effort to stand out now that 5G is starting its roll out. With 5G you will soon be able to get gigabit internet wirelessly. Frontier may see their 10-gigabit system as a way to stand out from a growing number of competitors.
