A few weeks ago, Frndly TV launched a new app with a dedicated home screen. It’s now starting to roll out to more devices as it slowly rolls out new channels to its affordable live TV streaming service. Frndly TV is also rolling out an improved DVR with new features to make finding what you want easier.
Late last week Frndly TV updated its DVR with a small preview screen as you fast forward or rewind. This allows you to see what you are fast forwarding through, which is especially helpful when you are going through commercials. This way you can quickly figure out when the commercial break is over or to see what part of the show you are fast forwarding through. In the past you just had a bar that would tell you how much time you moved forward or backward.
This comes as the new home screen is now available on more devices. The update no longer defaults to the guide but instead to a screen that looks a lot like the movie and TV shows tab. With this, you will find a collection of recommended live and on-demand programs.
The new update seems to be rolling out on mobile devices first, but a few readers have also reported the new home screen on streaming players.
You can still jump to the guide when you want, but Frndly TV no longer defaults to the guide when you first launch it.
