A growing number of networks are scheduling a reality-infused fall season lineup as the writers’ strike wages on and the actors’ strike looms. CBS and NBC have already unveiled their unscripted fall season schedules.

FOX is following suit and recently released its own fall schedule mostly featuring reality-based and unscripted programs. Some animated series and sports events are in the mix as well, carried over from the first fall lineup FOX released last May shortly after the writers’ strike began.

At the time, CEO Rob Wade said, “Across every genre of FOX’s 2023-24 lineup, we continue to attract the brightest, most prolific creators in the industry. As a result, our content portfolio continues to deliver balance and variety in its storytelling through the strength and stability of our returning favorites and the tremendous creativity of our new series.”

Series and films already completed before the strikes began are still able to air, but eventually, these collections will run out of finished material to show. Reality television and news programs are part of a different union than the WGA and SAG-AFTRA, so can continue cranking out content as normal.
