In a strategic move to enhance its programming, FOX Weather will begin simulcasting on FOX Business Network (FBN) weekday mornings from 5-6 AM/ET starting Monday, July 15th. This addition, which includes the “FOX Weather First” segment co-anchored by Britta Merwin and Craig Herrera, aims to expand the network’s reach and provide viewers with comprehensive weather coverage as they start their day.
The simulcast will precede “Mornings with Maria,” further integrating FOX Weather’s content into FBN’s morning lineup. This move follows the success of FOX Weather’s weekend morning simulcast on FBN, which has been in place since December 2021. The timing of this launch is particularly significant as the hurricane season has begun with unprecedented intensity, highlighted by Hurricane Beryl, the most powerful hurricane recorded in June and July.
In conjunction with this programming update, FOX Weather correspondent Max Gorden will transition to a reporter role at FBN’s Los Angeles bureau. Gorden, a FOX Weather original who joined the platform before its 2021 launch, has a notable track record covering major weather events. His assignments have included live coverage of Hurricane Hilary in California (August 2023), the wildfire outbreak in Hawaii (summer 2023), and the solar eclipse in Cleveland (April 2024). Gorden takes over duties previously held by Kelly O’Grady, who has moved to New York as a correspondent for FBN.
FOX Weather, a 24/7 free ad-supported television service (FAST) under FOX News Media, builds upon FOX News Channel’s expansive newsgathering resources and FOX Television Stations’ (FTS) combined expertise of 120 meteorologists. The service offers a comprehensive suite of weather products, featuring local, regional, and national reporting. Utilizing advanced radar systems, including an immersive mobile 3D radar, FOX Weather provides innovative forecasting. The platform covers all weather patterns, from immediate to long-term, ensuring viewers receive accurate and timely information.
Accessible via foxweather.com and the FOX Weather app (available for iOS and Android), FOX Weather is also available on internet-connected TVs through the FOX News app and various platforms. This strategic expansion highlights FOX Weather’s commitment to providing comprehensive and accessible weather coverage, leveraging its robust technological and human resources to keep viewers informed and prepared for all weather conditions.
