Delta is giving SkyMiles members another reason to stay glued to the seatback screen and their personal devices. The airline has added FOX One to Delta Sync Wi-Fi, giving eligible travelers 24-hour complimentary access to the streaming platform ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026. The partnership comes at a time when FOX is making the tournament a major centerpiece of its summer sports lineup.
As the streaming home of all things FOX, FOX One is a big destination for live sports, news, weather, entertainment, and on-demand viewing. Notably, the partnership begins on Tuesday, May 19, the same day Delta will stop serving snacks and drinks in the economy cabin for flights under 350 miles. Delta says the new partnership brings more than 5,000 hours of live programming onboard and gives travelers access to FOX’s World Cup coverage while in the air. The service is available to logged-in SkyMiles members age 18 and older on U.S. Delta Sync Wi-Fi flights. Members can also redeem their miles (as low as 15K miles) for a six-month FOX One subscription via the partnership.
Delta Sync members already have access to several other streaming and content partners, including The New York Times, Crunchyroll, YouTube, and Paramount+. The FOX One addition strengthens Delta’s pitch as a more premium in-flight entertainment hub, especially for sports fans.
FOX Continues to Go All-In on FIFA World Cup 2026
The latest move to bring the World Cup to fans 30,000 feet in the air shows how the international tournament is shaping up to be the biggest one yet. Every one of the 104 matches will stream live and on demand on FOX One, with 4K coverage included. FOX also plans to air all matches across FOX and FS1, with 40 matches in primetime. Tubi will carry free 4K streams of select matches, including the opening game and the U.S. men’s opener.
The company has also improved FOX One by building around a live sports experience. The service recently added advanced multiview features, designed to let viewers follow multiple feeds at once. For those streaming on a Delta flight, you can watch the live game on a seatback TV, while using the app on a phone or tablet for stats, replays, and alternate angles.
FOX is also expanding FOX One’s World Cup ambitions through a partnership with Indeed. The companies recently introduced the “Chief World Cup Watcher” campaign, which is designed to turn soccer fandom into a highly interactive viewing experience. The job pays $50,000 with one individual watching all 104 games on the streaming service. The media giant says the initiative will feature fan-driven content, social engagement, and second-screen features tied directly into the tournament.
With one of the world’s biggest events less than a month away, the campaign adds to FOX One’s growing focus on engagement tools for cord cutters. Between multiview support, live stats, alternate feeds, and onboard Delta access, FOX is clearly building the platform around watching live sports everywhere.
