FOX has given its upcoming streaming service, FOX One, an official launch date of August 21 and a monthly price of $19.99, or annual price of $199.99.
Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch shared the update during the company’s fourth quarter earnings call Tuesday morning, saying that the service “will be marketed to the cordless market.” That message was reiterated by Pete Distad, CEO, Direct to Consumer, Fox Corporation, in a statement following the call.
“We’re eager to launch FOX One in just a few weeks and super serve our viewers with the best in live news, sports and entertainment content all in one place,” said Distad. “In bringing together the full power of the FOX content portfolio in one service, we have created a great value proposition and user experience that will appeal to the cord-cutter and cord-never fans currently not served by conventional pay TV packages.”
FOX first shared plans for the new service in February, as part of the company’s strategic move to expand its digital footprint and cater to audiences beyond traditional cable television.
FOX One will bring all of FOX’s News, Sports and Entertainment content together on one platform. The service will offer the full portfolio of FOX brands including FOX News Channel, FOX Business Network, FOX Weather, FOX Sports, FS1, FS2, FOX Deportes, B1G, FOX Local Stations and the FOX Network. FOX Nation and B1G+ will also be available in the FOX One platform.
After the call, the FOX One website was updated with more information.
