Fox Nation has become a quiet success for Fox News. Built at first mostly on news, but in recent years, it has become more focused on lifestyle programs helping it grow. Now, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal, Fox Nation has hit two million subscribers and brings in about $140 million in annual revenue.

This all comes as Fox Nation’s streaming service is adding a new face to its lineup, Sean “Sticks” Larkin. The former police officer and PD Cam host has been cast as the new host of Crime Cam 24/7. Larkin has a three-decades-long career as a police officer in Tulsa, Oklahoma, investigating everything from narcotics to gangs, and before retiring, was the Crime Gun Unit supervisor.

Crime Cam 24/7 will feature surveillance footage from across the nation that catches criminals in the act, providing an in-depth look at interactions between cops and robbers. The first season has been approved for twelve episodes with a focus on how security footage aids police investigations, narrated by Sean Larkin.

Fox Nation is succeeding where CNN+ failed. The main difference between the two services is Fox Nations focus on moving away from direct news to focus more on lifestyle programs along with documentaries. This is a very different approach from the hard news focus that CNN took with its now failed streaming service.

It is still unknown how profitable the service really is. Fox Nation’s revenues of $140 million are just a fraction of the $3 billion Fox News brought in last year, according to the Wall Street Journal report. For now, Fox seems happy to continue to invest in its streaming service as it looks for ways to reach streamers.
