FedEx and Walgreens logosFedEx and Walgreens have teamed up to make your online shopping returns easier. According to this story by TechCrunch, now you can take your online FedEx returns to a participating Walgreens location and they’ll take it from there, including printing the return shipping label for you. All you need to do is process the return as usual with your online vendor that has partnered with FedEx Returns Technology Platform and they’ll send you a code to bring into the Walgreens associate.

“Our service offering with FedEx has been very well received by our customers, and implementing this latest technology in our stores will deliver even greater convenience to meet the needs of today’s customer,” said Richard Ashworth, president of operations at Walgreens, in a statement. “This is especially meaningful heading into the holiday season as more customers shop for gifts online and we’re able to offer safe, secure package pickup and drop-off services.”

This is similar to how Amazon has partnered with the UPS Store and Kohls to handle their returns. In exchange, these stores get traffic into their stores they otherwise wouldn’t.

The FedEx and Walgreens arrangement will begin early November, just in time for your holiday shopping. This new service will make it a lot more convenient to return streaming devices, remotes, and other cord cutting supplies if you find out they don’t work for you or need to exchange them for something different.

FedEx already has an existing drop-off relationship with Walgreens, but before this you had to print your own label and have your package ready to ship.
