Fox is moving Family Guy from its longheld Sunday night slot as part of Animation Domination, making room for the upcoming crime comedy series Grimsburg

In March, Grimsburg will take the 9:30 p.m. spot on Sunday nights, which Family Guy has filled for the past twenty years. Family Guy will move to Wednesdays with The Masked Singer and Animal Control

The last time Family Guy aired on a weeknight was during its initial season from 2001 to 2002. It ran on Thursday nights before being canceled after three seasons due to poor ratings. The show then moved to Cartoon Network in 2003 and became one of the most-watched series on the network. Thanks to a loyal fanbase and impressive DVD sales, Fox brought Family Guy back in 2005 as part of its Animation Domination lineup.

The new Animation Domination schedule starts with a preview of Grimsburg on January 7 after the FOX NFL Doubleheader. New episodes of Krapopolis start at 8:30 p.m. ET, followed by Bob’s Burgers and The Great North. On February 18, the full block begins with The Simpsons, Krapopolis, The Great North, and Grimsburg

Grimsburg is an animated comedy starring Jon Hamm, Erinn Hayes, Rachel Dratch, Alan Tudyk, Kevin Michael Richardson, and Greg Chun. The series focuses on Marvin Flute, the greatest detective ever, who heads back to Grimsburg, a town filled with secrets. Fox has already renewed the show for a second season ahead of its debut next year.

The Fox Sunday night schedule beginning February 18:

  • 8:00 p.m. The Simpsons
  • 8:30 p.m. Krapopolis
  • 9:00 p.m. Grimsburg
  • 9:30 p.m. The Great North

The Fox Wednesday night schedule beginning March 6:

  • 8:00 p.m. The Masked Singer
  • 9:00 p.m. Animal Control
  • 9:30 p.m. Family Guy
