Facebook has slowly been rolling out its new video app to new devices. For some time now Roku has had a Facebook app, and last week Samsung announced that it also got the new Facebook app.

Now it is the Fire TV and Fire Stick’s turn to get the new Facebook Video app. With this new app you can log in to your Facebook account and watch videos from your friends. You can access top videos and recommended videos on a wide range of topics too.

You will also get access to Facebook Live Videos not only from your friends but also find the most popular Facebook Live videos at that moment. This could be a great resource for breaking news because more and more TV channels started offering live coverage of breaking news streamed on their Facebook pages.

This seems to be the early steps into a video service to take on Twitter and its new video streaming efforts. Recently it has even been reported that Facebook and Major League Baseball (MLB) are in talks for rights to stream some MLB games this year.

Hopefully Facebook will continue to offer more events streamed for free on Facebook and a growing list of supported media players.
