Evoca TV announced today that it will carry Altitude Sports, home of the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Rapids, and Colorado Mammoth. Evoca subscribers in the Colorado Springs area will have access to coverage of their local teams with the pay OTA TV service.
“Our mission is to bring high-quality television to underserved markets and we have to say Colorado Springs is underserved when it comes to their beloved teams,” said Todd Achilles, president and CEO of Evoca. “Adding Altitude Sports to our channel lineup expands our growing regional sports offerings and ensures fans won’t miss any action on the court or the ice this season.”
Taking a jab at cable companies, Kroenke Sports COO Matt Hutchings said “Altitude is excited to join Evoca’s channel lineup so that we can give Colorado Springs fans access to their favorite teams. Unlike Comcast and DISH Network, Evoca appreciates the value of our fans who have been denied the opportunity to watch games for too long. We look forward to participating in Evoca’s groundbreaking service.”
We first reported on Evoca in April 2020, when Edge Networks announced the new service and outlined its goal of using ATSC 3.0, aka NextGen TV, as a platform to offer what Edge Networks President and CEO Todd Achilles called at the time the, “next big leap in television.”
In the announcement about the addition of Altitude Sports, Evoca noted its “continued efforts to bring regional sports to the communities they serve,” noting that the full Evoca NextGen TV service will launch with picture quality up to 4K in the coming months. Evoca is currently available in Colorado, Arizona, and Idaho.
Evoca is regularly priced at $49/month, but for a limited time, new subscribers can sign up for $9.50/month for life. Use promo code 9504LIFE to lock in the lower price.
