Earlier this week Warner Bros. Discovery announced that Max will stream live sports on its service through the Bleacher Report Sports Add-On tier. The add-on will be free for a limited time and will later be a paid service.
So, what do you need to know about this? Today, we are going to break down everything we know about Max’s plans to stream TNT & TBS Sports on Max.
When will Max add sports, and what will it cost?
The Bleacher Report tier will launch on October 5, 2023, and will be available for free to all customers through February 29, 2024. Afterward, the add-on will cost $9.99 a month, and is available on all tiers.
What sporting events will be included in this package?
The package will include live games from the MLB, NHL, NBA, U.S. Soccer, the NCAA March Madness tournament, and more. With this free preview to all paying Max customers you will be able to enjoy most of the 2023-2024 NBA season and the MLB playoffs. This will include all games that air on TNT and TBS.
Will Max offer exclusive games?
At this time, Max will only offer games that are aired on TNT and TBS. Unlike Peacock with its exclusive sporting events for now Max is just offering games that will also be on cable TV or streaming services like Hulu + Live TV.
Why is Warner Bros. Discovery adding sports to Max?
“We want to be everywhere sports fans are and our unparalleled offering of leading sports, combined with the power of the Bleacher Report brand and content, including the unique way B/R engages with young sports fans, all delivered through the new Max platform, will enable us to broaden our audience and delight new fans,” said Luis Silberwasser, chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery Sports.
The addition of sports on Max makes watching things like March Madness a lot easier for cord cutters. Now with an antenna and Max you will be able to watch all of the March Madness games. If you already have Max this will be the cheapest way to catch all of next years March Maddness games.
